Super- (and hyper-) posters on extremist forums

This paper examines patterns of posting behaviour on extremist online forums in order to empirically identify and define classes highly active ‘super-posters'. Using a unique dataset 8 far-right, 7 Salafi-jihadist, 2 Incel forums, totalling 12,569,639 posts, the study operates three-dimensional analysis super-posters (Gini coefficient, Fisher-Jenks algorithm, network analysis) that sheds light type influence at play these spaces. Our shows consistently display four statistically distinguishable posters from least ‘hypo-posters' most ‘hyper-posters', as well demonstrating that, while hyper-posters’ activity is remarkable, they are not necessarily central or connected members forums. These findings, which suggest places where both minority majority influences occur, only advance our understanding key locus radicalisation; also pave way for sounder interventions monitor disrupt phenomenon.
